Aluminum refractory brick is one of the most widely used products of refractory materials, the amount of alumina used in it is very high. This brick is made of non-metallic mineral materials whose constituent elements are SiO2 and Al2O3. Some aluminum firebricks are made from kaolin, calcined bauxite and high purity clay. The firing temperature of these bricks is between 1200 and 1800 degrees Celsius. These bricks are mostly used for high temperature furnaces such as steel, cement and glass furnaces. These bricks are usually classified in groups of 50 to 90% alumina, which are made in different sizes and shapes according to the needs of the consumer.
What is aluminum refractory brick?
Aluminum refractory brick is one of the most widely used products of refractory materials, the amount of alumina used in it is very high. This brick is made of non-metallic mineral materials, the constituent elements of which are SiO2 and Al2O3, so that its AL2O3 content is higher than chamotte brick.
Some aluminum firebricks are made from kaolin, calcined bauxite and high purity clay to have very few impurities. The firing temperature of these bricks is between 1200 and 1800 degrees Celsius.
Application of aluminum refractory brick
Due to the high variety of aluminum refractory brick, this type of refractory brick has many applications. Due to its high purity, low porosity and excellent resistance to alkali attack and creep when applying load, this brick is used in baking chimneys, additional arcs of glass tanks, blast furnaces and carbon black furnaces, to cover the inner wall of steel melting furnaces, lime furnaces, furnaces Electric, rotary furnaces, metal furnaces, incinerators and garbage furnaces. is used.Due to the resistance of these bricks against alkaline substances, they are also used to cover the inner wall of cement and glass furnaces.
Types of aluminum refractory bricks
The high demand of aluminum firebrick is mostly due to its resistance to high temperatures, flaking, impact, wear or pressure, favorable corrosion resistance against acid and neutral slag at high temperature. These bricks are usually classified in groups of 50 to 90% alumina. According to the percentage of alumina used in these bricks, they can be classified into the following types.
– 50% alumina refractory brick
This group of firebricks has low porosity and expands up to 1600 degrees by re-baking. This feature of the brick is favorable for Patil, because it minimizes the joint between the bricks and creates an almost integrated wall at the working temperature. On the other hand, in industries that deal with high temperature, these bricks are used for back layer bricks.
– Refractory brick with 60% alumina
These types of refractory bricks are used in the steel industry and rotary furnaces. Due to the materials used in these bricks, they are of high purity, and due to the baking of these types of bricks at high temperature, they have high temperature and creep resistance, and they have good strength.
– Refractory brick with 70% alumina
This type of firebrick has a higher purity and is one of the most widely used aluminum firebricks. These bricks are used in steel and cement industries as well as lime rotary kilns.
– 80% alumina refractory brick
This type of refractory brick is made of bauxite and some alumina and clay. The characteristics of this alumina brick include medium porosity, high creep resistance, and high strength against high temperature. The application of this alumina brick is in the roof of electric arc furnaces and the exit areas of cement furnaces.
– 85% alumina refractory brick
This type of bricks contain 85% alumina, which has high mechanical, abrasion and thermal resistance, and the baking temperature for them is between 1200 and 1800 degrees Celsius.
This type of refractory brick is used for the safety layer of the electric arc furnace, the roof of the electric arc furnace, the safety zone of the cement furnace, the exit zone of cement furnaces and general applications in places with high abrasion resistance.
Dimensions and shapes of aluminum refractory bricks
Aluminum refractory bricks are usually made in the form of trapezoidal, wedge or arched bricks. On the other hand, these bricks are made in different dimensions according to the needs of the consumer, of course, they are also produced with complex shapes for special purposes
